El Hadji Diouf

Experience? He's turning 21 this year and essentially played one competitive season in his career, which has been in the Czech League. He's done really well by all accounts, but it's hardly significant experience to shout about.

Going back to the 21/22 season, West Ham's significant player sales would be;

- Felipe Andersen - sold for £3m, having signed him for £35m.
- Issa Diop - sold for £15m, having signed him for £22m.
- Declan Rice - sold for £100m
- Gianluca Scamacca - sold for £25m, having signed him £35m.
- Nikola Vlasic - sold for £8m, having signed him for £25m.
- Said Benrahama - sold for £12m having signed him for £20m

Some more recent purchases who are still in the squad (I think) would also include:

- Max Kilman - signed for £45m
- Crysencio Summerville - signed for £25m
- Niclas Fulkrug - signed for £24m
- Luis Guilherme - signed for £20m
- Edson Alvarez - signed for £35m
- James Ward-Prowse - signed for £30m
- Nayef Aguerd - signed for £27m
- Maxwell Cornet - signed for £17m

Very likely they lose money on every single one of those.

Nearly every major signing they have made in the last 5 years has failed and/or they've made a loss, and barring a £100m golden goose academy player, their net spend would be amongst the worst in the division.

That's the model you want us to emulate, is it?
They can afford to get away with it because of their *deal* regarding the Olympic Stadium & let them carry on their transfer model!!

Should West Ham go down, which looks very likely at this point, should we look at getting the left back Diouf off them ?

Perhaps some kind of deal could be done with a "fringe" player going the other way ? Maybe Nketiah ?

I doubt the lad will be happy being second fiddle, not would he be short of suitors.
I reckon we get Summerville off them and.
Wouldn't mind Paqueta, Soucek and Walker-Peters either.

A year ago, I was in favour but Mitchell has improved and he has Sosa, and probably preferably, Devenny as back-ups. Not sure there is anyone that interesting. Bowen would go to a bigger club. Wan-Bissaka, maybe, if we don't get a Munoz back-up or he leaves. Summerville is too lightweight: we already have a similar player in Pino
