Easter weekend, and no football! I remember when Easter was an exciting time, when promotion and relegation issues often got resolved as a result of teams often playing three matches over the long weekend (Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday). Yet here we are, public holiday, and no matches to watch (yet a while back we had a huge pile-up of fixtures). In this, as in so many other things, the FA seems to have no regard for tradition and no commonsense. Surely there should be, say, two games scheduled (Friday or Saturday, then Monday), preferably local derbies, at a time when supporters are enjoying a bank holiday break?
