I was lucky enough to see Denis Law score a hat-trick. I was unlucky, however, to see it at Selhurst Park as Man Ure beat Palace 5-3 in a Division One end of season thriller.
Nonetheless, Best, Law and Charlton will always be amongst my favourite non-Palace players.
Denis and Kenny Dalglish are arguably the best ever Scottish players.
I also used to enjoy listening to Denis’ analysis on the radio.
A great footballer and man.

When I was a nipper (long time ago) Denis law was the the player that was everyone's icon, certainly of kids my age, was at Selhurst when he scored against us but although gutted about the goal absolutely delighted to see a an original superstar at Selhurst , never thought I would see players of his stature when I started following the palace. God bless you Denis rest in peace, part of my childhood has gone
