Worth noting that after the unheaval at the start of the season, yesterday marked the third consecutive league game that we started with Chalobah, Guehi and Lacroix as our back three.

Although we lost two of those games, Liverpool and Forest only scored once each and the Forest goal obviously was more of a mistake from Henderson than the fault of our defenders.

Only six teams have conceded fewer than our 11 (Liverpool - 5, Forest - 7, City - 9, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs - 10).

Given how well they played yesterday, I think one could reasonably argue that the back 3/5 are 'gelling' and things will continue to improve from here.

It's scoring that's been the problem for us. Six goals is the joint fewest in the league. If we sort that out, we can still have a good season.

I agree. I think we have 3 top players in our back 3 and in time they will become a force to be reckoned with. Despite the fact that Chalobah hasn’t played competitive football for some time and Maxence is adjusting to completely new surroundings (and people) our back three’s performance at the weekend is deffo wise for optimism going forward.

We just need Eze to find his mojo…..he’s been nowhere near his form of last year.

Yep very much agree. IMO by the end of the season this back three will be heralded as one of the best in the league.

Chalobah has made a few mistakes and looked a little of the pace at times, but regular game time will iron those out.

Lacroix is getting better game on game. He doesn't seam to play long arial balls like Anderson, but instead some epic long balls along the ground (a bit like Sakho could)

Its amazing how positive this board is after a win!

Yes and the way Lacroix celebrated firstly our goal and then the full time whistle, was very encouraging to see. He was also much more vocal during the game with some leadership and motivational qualities very much apparent.
