His finishing tonight was emphatic. An incredible talent and as well as he played he can play better. Unbelievable.
He'll probably break most of them except Taylor's World Championship total. There are too many really good players around now for anyone to achieve that.He was a machine tonight. Unbeatable. He could break all the records given his age.
You may be right Monkey and there's a series of programmes on Sky/Now telling the story of how darts has grown since the 70s with interviews and clips of some of your chums. Might be worth a punt.Quite often it’s debated about football back in the day, was it better than nowadays etc
Well I’ve watched a fair chunk of the darts from my germ ridden sick bed this week, and even darts was better back in the day, these two in the final, are they really the best? Best of a bad bunch it seems, I’ve seen a few matches and they seem all over the place some of them, even in the final.
I’m sure Bristow, Lowe, Jocky Wilson, Bobby George etc back in the day would’ve wiped the floor with this lot with their relentless accuracy and finishing, it all seems a bit scattergun now, no wonder a 17 year old is world champion

Sorry but you're looking back through rose tinted glasses, the quality was nowhere near what it is now, ton averages were far and few between, now most players in the top 32 consistently have match averages over a ton, it's why no one will beat taylors record, lack of competition, he was the only player capable of consistently getting a ton plus average for 20 years.Quite often it’s debated about football back in the day, was it better than nowadays etc

I have to agree. I thought i saw him limping after lugging those big trophies around the stage. If he dropped say 15 kilos that would be a good start. An awesome young darts player. His aim and shot choices are quite astonishing. He has been thrilling to watch - even my wife, who is emphatically not a darts enthusiast - enjoyed seeing his unblinking eyes totally focused on his game. She did, however, suggest he needs to improve his diet if he wants to live long enough to break all the records... and I have to agree.
Incredibly, the UK has a World Champion. Well done Nuke!

I'm buzzing littler won but thought it was a pretty poor final, littler is capable of playing much better and mvg was well below standard, didn't punish littler once and he had numerous opportunities to.
