A hall of fame is a list of individuals, achievements, or other entities, usually chosen by a group of electors, to mark their excellence or fame in their field.
I have seen it in tennis and the popular wrestling WWE, but was not aware that there is an English Football Hall of Fame in the Museum at Manchester. This contains all-time top English footballing talents, as well as non-English players and managers who have become significant figures in the history of the English game. New members are added each year, with an induction ceremony at the Museum.
Ian Wright, Ray Wilkins, Trevor Francis, Alan Mullery (spit) are the only inductees I am aware of with Palace connections.
We could honour our all time appearance players, Jim Cannon and Terry Long, record scorers, Peter Simpson, Ted Smith, Ian Wright, Players of the Season, Peter Taylor, Kenny Sansom, Andy Johnson. Overseas players, Fan Zhiyi, Attilio Lombardo, Aki Riihillahti. Managers, Edmund Goodman, Bert Head, Malcolm Allison, Steve Coppell.
My question is should we have a Palace Hall of Fame or is just a big gimmick?
