Christmas films

Last year I watched some of the Christmas films I hadn't seen.
Jim Carrey in The Grinch was really good. The rhyming started to numb my brain by the end, but a really good watch.
Also did a Christmas Carol , with George C Scott, which I thought was probably the best version I've seen.
This year I have just watched Die Hard. I know it is really popular with a lot of people, because they made 2 & 3. What an absolute crock of 5hlt, with no redeeming features.
Home Alone is next on my list,.....

Anyone else got some Must Watch or bad reviews ?

Jim Carrey is really funny as the Grinch better than the Cumberbatch version.

Christmas Carol Patrick Stewart version is great just slightly edges the Alistair Sim one.

It's a wonderful Life of course and both version sof Miracle on 34th Street. All other Christmas movies are either junk or bad romcoms.

the old Willie Wonka is much better than the Johnny Depp one. Like most modern re-makes.....not as good as the original.

The Gene Wilder movie kicks ass. And only watching it as an adult did i get what an absolute fv.cker was 'Grandpa Joe'.

Christmas films are generally awful, but I'd always go with The Family Man with Nick Cage and Trading Places, and maybe Christmas with the Kranks or Deck The Halls, which are harmless fun.

We watch elf every year now since i first watched it 6 years ago. It's really good and will farrell is great in it.

I also love tim burton's nightmare before christmas.

watched muppets christmas carol for the first time last week. It was very good. Michael caine was brilliant, as always.

Both my kids are regular cinema goers there are two films neither of them have seen, the Victors early 60s and Casablanca, both black and white and my favourites, albeit not Christmasy, but I've seen It’s Wonderful Life too often.

Die Hard cast is excellent. 2 and 3 are good too.

British actors make the best evil characters. Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons in Die Hard 1 and 2. The thicko in Shawshank who listens to music in the library plays the baddie in no 2.

Anthony Hopkins another example.

Willie Wonka....i reckon 'Granpa Joe' was a sneaky dig at Josef Stalin. They even looked similar.

And regarding Christmas, i reckon the Globalists would have a meltdown if another 'life of Christ' movie was filmed with a Richard Chamberlain type. A blue eyed Jesus seems to send them into a catatonic rage - especially the posh accent. Cos we all know he really had a Croydon accent.

Ive just ordered both your suggestions on ebay. £7 for both DVD's, postage included. As long as they arrive before new Year, they'll be great additions.

Does anyone want my Die Hard box set ? 😀 1 was bad enough, but no way am i watching 2 and 3.
