Following on from things you don't see anymore I thought I'd include these light entertainment specialists - I'm leaving one out who is actually great, the rest are naff and either likable or dislikable depending on your taste. You're getting two links - one naff one which should make you smile and one great one. In ascending order I'd go ...

5. Richard Clayderman

4. Bobby Crush

3. Russ Conway

2. Liberace

1. the one and only Mrs Mills

the other great one is Winnifred Atwell famous for the pot black theme and her two guinea upright piano which travelled the world with her ... check out the pot black theme but here is this wonderful lady with Eamon Andrews.

Tell us your favourite ivory tnikler, rearrange my order or regail with some of your light entertainment titbits.

Borge and Dawson ... great calls, though they were funny on purpose whereas the others were hystericasl without realising it. I'll try another Mrs Mills link with Semprini ...

If you checked out Winifred Atwell you'll see she always had a beaming grin on her face, but it wasn't put on, it was a smile brought on by the deep concentration and passion for what she was doing - those that came after he copied it but just looked like Bobby Crush who'd wink at you whilst playing.

Victor Borge was a good shout.

Hugh Laurie plays a mean piano too. Saw him playing and singing 'Putting on the Ritz' in an episode of Jeeves and Wooster, thought he was miming the piano, later learnt that he actually played. Some good clips on YouTube, but this one with Jools Holland is short and sweet.

My brother was going through our family tree and it turned out we had quite an accomplished pianist in our family...my grandfathers brother...rex hill O'Brien..
Don't know how to download it...but if you go onto you tube...there is a recording of him playing a waltz in 'c'sharp.....
My dad died ,late 90's a doggy man ,all his life...only at the wake ,we were told by his sisters that uncle rex had thought him to play the piano...and apparently very well!!!
Funny ,a motorbike mechanic and lifelong greyhound/pigeon fancier...and we never knew...would have been nice to know/witness.....some people ...!!!

What a shame. Some people hide their talent especially musicians.
