Both funny and sickening at the same time

it reminds me of the time Richard Dawkins was talking to a muslim radical in the Middle East. The radical bloke said something along the lines of "all you Westerners dress your women up like wh0res" . It was met with peals of laughter from Dawkins.
but then i thought......
a. it may or may not be true
b. its tells you what many ( in the Middle East ) think of us.
Because i will often be the first to question & criticize islam, on here. However i do agree with much of their teachings, good teachings, ...
-about alcohol being bad,
-the career-woman is not a longterm sustainable way to organise a whole civilisation,
- successful blokes deserve to have more kids than unemployed losers,
- marriages are more successful if people haven't been run through by 100 previous partners,
- childcare should be paid for by the bloke who fathered the kids - not the taxpayer,
- your family must not share your female-relatives with blokes who refuse to share theirs ( otherwise more fool you ).... etc etc....
a lot of the teachings of Islam are successful, pressure-tested and have stood the tests of time. Unlike downtown Philadelphia with its druggy Wh0rey decadence of unaffordable housing, homelessness , drugs, pimps and all that.
The christian-right has much in common with Islam........and yet never the twain shall meet ? too many memories of 1098 ?
