So a student loan can be paid to a British student or Foreign student with residence status ( this included EU nationals). Surprise Surprise

When you get regular insights of how much money is being haemorrhaged by HMG and it's agencies and departments, it really is astounding.
No wonder there's a crackdown on spending on pensioners and disabled people.

I thought we had closed down all the dodgy colleges. Is this an isolated incident that has escaped the net or a more widespread fraud?

Having assisted someone from overseas obtain a student loan I do have some experience of the SLC. Which was that it was really difficult to deal with them and that they went into great detail in assessing the eligibility criteria before eventually agreeing under an obscure clause in the agreement made with the EU after Brexit. The student involved received incorrect advice several times during the process, made plans, gave commitments and spent money as a consequence only to have to change them. One part of the SLC would say one thing, whilst another said the opposite.
