Hello Dave. I can remember playing in a final at Selhurst but it would have been around 1963. I’m sure it was against Kensington Park or some team that played in yellow. I played for Oval Road school and we lost 3-0.

I wasn`t selected for the team, but I remember watching Whitehorse (now Whitehorse Manor?) school lose 3-1 there in 1959 or 60.
No idea who the other team were though.

I wasn`t selected for the team, but I remember watching Whitehorse (now Whitehorse Manor?) school lose 3-1 there in 1959 or 60.
No idea who the other team were though.

I watched that game too.
My first school was Whitehorse Manor but I was transferred to Winterbourne when the family moved to deepest Thornton Heath. We lost to Whitehorse Manor in the quarter or semi final so didn't get to play on the Palace pitch, every local kids dream.
I think the winners were from Shirley but can't be sure.

I went to Whitehorse Manor Juniors and vaguely remember watching us lose 4-0 to Castle Hill at Selhurst Park - probably 1965 or 66, I seem to remember the problem was that the teams weren't used to playing on a full sized pitch!

Many thanks to you all for confirming that I am not making it up, grandsons had looks of disbelief when I told them.
Winning FA Cup was wonderful memory so late in my life and matched up with my early life memory of playing on the hallowed ground.
