Ahamada - Gone

I find it interesting that the BBS members have been more gracious towards his exit than HOL members
He never did anything to impress me so I am not bothered about him going. He was here 3 years and was seen by at least 2 managers and coaching staff and they were not impressed.

Good luck to him but he is a lucky boy being paid a lot of money for failure.

I have heard here and there that old school managers used to say if 6 out of 10 signings are a success, then you've done well.

I see little reason to think all the data, analysis, and other wonders have altered that ratio much, especially for the likes of Palace, where the budget often places proven talent out of reach, and dictates a bit of an informed gamble is involved more often than not.

This lad was firmly in the 'Oh well, not to worry' category of flop. Which is surely the best type?!
i suspect with transfer fee, agent fee and wages, including employer NI he has cost Palace c£20m in total for almost zero contribution.

I also suspect he was given a pay off to leave as his 'new' wages will be considerably lower than what he was earning at Palace.

If we were offered £20m for Guehi today Palace would probably take it as he has 5 months left of his contract.

Clearly not every transfer will be a success but this was a costly mistake.

Vieira signed him for a fee I believe to be £12 Mill.
He made 24 appearances for us in the 2023-24 season, 6 under Oliver Glasner.
His last appearance for us was in May 24 in the 3-1 away win at Wolves. He came on from the bench and was 'Red carded' in the 90th minute.
I wish him well at Auxerre.
