Jeffrey Schlupp

Good luck Schluppie.
Always up there. Most balanced fluid player we had.
That goal last year at Craven Cottage.
try that in the scottish lr

Whilst on the decline he has genuinely been one of my favourite Palace players in recent years.

Had a rare ability to move the ball toward the oppositions goal, fantastic athleticism and could certainly lash it, occasionally with devastating effect! Played numerous positions without complaint and always did a job.

Best of luck Jeffrey and thank you.

The right time to move on for Jeff. I never thought he was a bad as some people made out. At least he played in a positive manner always looking to push forward rather than resort to our habitual sideways and backwards ritual.

When I think of him in that forward thinking mode, I'm reminded of his run into the box at Wolves back in March 22 when he won a penalty which Wilf converted. Schluppy simply caught the Wolves defence off guard. His driving run forward was the last thing they expected.

I also remember when he scored the winning goal against Bournemouth a few seasons back, driving into the opposition penalty area to fire home. That when we had gone down to 10 men thanks to Sakho being sent off.

Not entirely sure why but that would be in my top 10 games at Selhurst. I think it was because we went down to 10 fairly early and were flirting with the relegation zone. The exultation when Schluppy scored was amazing and we held on for 3 precious points. God knows what it would be like to win an actual proper trophy (I was at Wembley for the ZDS cup)!

good luck to Jeff.

Never quite became a complete regular but always gave 100% and contributed some decent goals over the years. Personally i quite liked him a LB but recently he has rarely played there. CM in a 433 was also quite a good fit for him.
Unfortunately last season with Olise's injury playing him as an attacking left sided player in a 433 did not go so well and he did look a bit lost. I wasn't convinced he should have been renewed in the summer and he's barely featured this season.

I suspect we are paying a large % of his wages as he was on a pretty penny but this seems a logical move for all parties.
