Can we finish above ManUre in the table ?

Location
south pole
Country
Netherlands
While living in deep ManUre/Liverpool t-shirt territory there is one annoying experience. The kids go to school in a Palace Shirt and the other kids say "Crystal Palace, but why do you support them ? they are sh1.t" .

Of course the Eaglets are now schooled in the reply " you support ManUre ? ah but sure we beat yis twice last season".....rendering a very silent conversation.

And of course the memory of Crystanbul casts a long shadow over the other arrogant d1.ckheads.

And thus raising an interesting new question : can we finish above ManUre ?

Absolutely, if they get a tonking today their confidence is really going to be shot and they will be genuine relegation candidates.
Fingers, toes and everything else crossed, common the bin dippers!!!

A draw would be a surprise, a victory for Man Utd would be a gargantuan shock.
I do not envisage us finishing above them in the table.

would a Clattenburg moment happen ? a preference for keeping the Title-race open and interesting ? cos , lets face it. The current Liverpool squad could beat ManUre even with a hangover, 10 men, dropsy, and a mild dose of Deli-belly.

Yeah that's all it is over here. My dad and brother are utd. Thts the answer I've been getting for years. There's more man city shirts now over here all the same. Would be absolutely great to finish above them. We still have the other red lot to listen to all the same 🤣

You live in Surrey ?

I haven't done the maths or looked at the fixtures, but hoping we can actually be the team that sends Manyoo down. 🙂 that would be nice.

the English get their football allegiance from wherever they went to school. In most other places, that watch the Premier League, the choice of club is often from a menu of options. I recall walking into a coffee shop in Morocco and the telly had us versus Arsenal - and a hundred moroccan lads shouting at the telly. Again all the locals looking puzzled at me for supporting Palace......they assumed i was a Liverpool fan. And that i needed the Gunners to lose for Liverpool to get the title.

Success sells t-shirts. For some reason, in 2016 all the playgrounds in Ireland were awash in Leicester shirts. And everytime i travel in a taxi, with an elderly driver, i am greeted by a Leed Utd air freshener.

Looking at the score from Craven Cottage the question is can we finish above Ipswich, without sounding too Frazer- ish ,we would be doomed!

I got that a lot at school, we were in division 3 when I started secondary school and despite being 5 miles from selhurst most of the other kids supported Leeds, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U etc, but even at 11/12 years old I used to say “because I can go to watch them” It seemed simple to me, I’d sooner go watch us play Mansfield or Hereford, at least I was at a game. supporting the likes of Liverpool or Man U back then was just seeing the result at the end of the world of sport on tv or in the Sunday paper

I just watched Man U put together arguably their best performance of the season against league leaders Liverpool. Before this match, I would have said yes, but now I'm in the not-so-sure corner.

A familiar story.

I have always stuck with the line 'You like 'x team', you don't support them'.

I've long maintained a differentiation between the likes of myself who have frozen to death watching utter rubbish over the years and those who picked a team to associate with because they won frequently and had household names playing for them.

Problem they seem to have is they only seem to raise their game against rivals city and Liverpool because the players know if they put in lame performances against them the fans really will turn on them.

Every one of their past few managers has the same problem. They put in good performances vs. certain teams and lose to mediocre teams. Just when their about to be fired, put in some good performances again. Until the fans / board finally gets sick of it and fires the manager.

Rinse and repeat.

I see no reason Almiron will be any different. In fact, he may last less time as he has no history with them and tends to be an open book when he speaks.

What's he doing at ManUre?

It seems the club is rotten to the core, players are allowed to cruise on easy street, coasting through games, this hasn’t happened over night
