Am I the only one who thinks Eze has lost it this year? seems to run into trouble and loose the ball far to often, looks like a little boy lost. I think a change on the left is required, at least Schlup tries.

Thinks he is better than he shows on the pitch

Pretty much since he got involved with the England set-up he and Mitchell have gone backwards. And Wharton has been injured as well as Olise getting hurt playing for France.
It's as if the Fates don't want our players involved - some of them anyway.

He played his best football central behind the striker, instead he's playing out on the left and looks uncomfortable, need to change formation or sell him and bring in someone like Zaha imo

He misses his best mate who went to Bayern.

I'm getting similar vibes to when Zaha sulked a whole season after not getting his move to Arsenal.

He seems to get mobbed by the opposition particularly in defensive areas so needs to find more space up the field just behind Mateta. He could also act as a decoy for the big man by drawing in defenders.

His passing wasn’t great yesterday and he kicked the ball into either our players or theirs just 2 yards away and also ran into a couple of blind alleys.

Having said that, he’ll come right. He’s a class act and will undoubtedly benefit by Wharton playing again hopefully in a couple of weeks.

i agree he is not playing great, but he is our only creative player and is clearly nursing an injury.

After the Brighton game he had a bruised foot, so i would not have played him in the cup at Arsenal. He did play and got a kick on the same injury. Previously he had a hamstring injury.

He is clearly nursing this a bit.

Also it is clear that all opponents put men on him very quickly which limits his impact.

Away from home his impact has been pretty average this season.

Not in the slightest, my god I even read Lanzo saying as much😳

I hate to say it, but he’s on easy street, he struts around most of the time and that sharpness and work rate has gone.

The only time I ever see Eze sulk is when he gets subbed. (which is a good thing). He is still a great player but has been struggling with injuries and being marked out of games.
As a result he can't express himself like he has. This is not being helped by the absence of Wharton and the departure of Olise.
Over to you Olly.
If we can't get him back to his top ways, then it would be best to sell and move on. I get that.

I've been thinking that he looks like he's carrying too much timber. I know he's the chunky sort but it looks like he's lost his sharpness and he does 'lumber about' a bit. Defensively, he simply makes a show of challenging but it's quite ineffectual.

Going forward, he has three in attendance most games so really needs to do the simple and quickly. He's doing neither in my opinion. Doing that turn he does inside has been rumbled and he just seems to run into opponents. That quick burst of speed to get from them isn't there, is it?

I would hate to see him go. Skilful players can lose form for different reasons.
As they say in rugby there are piano movers and piano players; as laudable and necessary as hard working players are I don't particularly want to watch them grafting away.

I think he is naturally fantastic, but i wonder (sadly) if he has the drive in him to propel himself forward, as we know he is very Religious and now married, maybe he just hasn't got the motivation to maintain his former standard, not sure, but if that is the case its not good for us

Think it's common to lose the drive once you're married. Or are you running after a bus you're already on?

I think the England call ups went to his head and he became far to in awe of himself when back playing for Palace. He needs to settle down, go back to basics and gradually improve his performance. I’m sure his confidence has been affected too (like Kamada). I’m feeling more encouragement from Sarr than Eze at the moment.

Eze was my star player from the moment he joined us from QPR. His elegant runs gliding through the opposition defenses and controlling the ball with those silky feet of his were mesmerising.

But, he has definitely lost his sparkle and it is mystifying to witness. It looks like he wants to do everything on his own as if he doesn't trust his colleagues. There's no doubt he played better alongside Olise and it was interesting that they were together watching the game at Selhurst recently.

No doubt he misses his mate, but for his sake, and the club's, he needs to overcome w.hatever issues are preventing him playing his unique style of extravagant and creative football that gave us all such joy in previous seasons.
