Muñoz Suspension

I dont see this suspension as too much of a problem . Against Ars we will be defending as a back 5 most of the time so a full back (Clyne ) will be just as good as the more attacking WB Munoz.

If it was going to happen Arsenal away was probably for us the best game to be without him .
 
The rules are a bit silly

If he had got a second yellow and sent off, he'd miss the cup game

But the 5 yellow rules only effects premier league fixtures

Bit of a backwards rule really

However would rather have him fit and flying for boxing day!

The law regarding the EFL cup/ EPL yellows were changed last year after a meeting with all the clubs most who were complaining about missing key players.

Agreed. We'll need him more for the Bournemouth and Southampton games and he will now enter the post-Christmas period on zero yellows.

No, my understanding of the new 'tweaks' to the laws, is he'll be ok for the cup game, but, not for the league game. Annoying thing is, after 19 league game the 5 yellows don't matter, it switches to 10 yellows.

Lerma is on 4 yellows in the league, so he has to be a good boy for the matches v Arsenal, Bournemouth & Soton.

Hopefully by the time he gets that 5th, Wharton will be ready to go. And CK would have had a few more weeks of training in the legs.

If he'd got a 2nd yellow and banned for the cup game, would that have been rolled over to the league game as he already is suspended for the cup game.

If not we've missed a trick there!

After contacting a friend i have at the FA, he got back to me & has said that Munoz WILL be suspended for both games v Arsenal. It's only after the qtr-final that yellows are wiped in the cup matches. My apologies for the misleading info i gave earlier.

No worries I wasn't 100% with my post, it's what I had heard, they change the rules so often these days.

Once upon a time men would joke that female supporters never understood the offside rule, not any more though. I gave up trying to understand the rules regarding offside and penalties ages ago. All I know is that when we play a big team they always seem to go against us. 😀

And with foul play VAR depends on a subjective view of whether a clear an obvious error has been made by the ref which kind of defeats it's purpose.

I looked it up online and I still got it wrong ! Although I had forgotten about his Villa booking
