What are people’s thoughts on the upcoming window?

Mine are that we need cover for Mitchell, a replacement for Olise (a type not a like for like as there isn’t one). These I feel are urgent requirements.

I also don’t think it would be the worst money spent getting another ‘battling’ central midfielder. I know we have hughes, Doucoure and Lerma but by there nature these players get injured and suspended a lot.

I also think an ageing proven goal scorer (like Philips was) to help when JPM is not on it or injured and to try to help Eddie get better. That said, for £30 mill, he should be doing better.

While we ideally need all of those that would be a very expensive window. A proven Premier League goal scorer of any age is going to cost an awful lot of money. Another proven attacker in the Olise mode would also cost north of £30m. Add in a left back and another midfielder and we’d be talking a total outlay of c£90m. I can’t see it. We won’t sign another striker having shelled out for Nketiah. I don’t think we will sign another attacker either. Midfield should be okay once a couple of the injuries clear up. So all in all I see us getting in maybe a left back and maybe another younger player from the championship or a loan.
