Our Mission Statement

Palace against Racism is a collective of Crystal Palace Supporters dedicated to ensuring Selhurst Park the wider South London community (and beyond) remains safe, welcoming and inclusive environments for anyone.

Background

Crystal Palace FC lies within a multi-racial and diverse community, served by a multi-racial and diverse football team.

It has been set up in light of events over the last 12 months, most notably at European away games, where racist stickers have been widely distributed, racist flags have appeared, racist chants heard and individuals targeted and attacked for their ethnicity.

Aims of the Movement

.To effectively eradicate all forms of racism at CPFC.
• To work with and support the club to kick out racist fans from the club and also prevent them from travelling abroad.
• Establish a more effective process with the club to encourage fans to identify racist fans.
• Raise awareness and educate.
• Remove/Cover any racist stickers.

How are we going to do this?

Well you gotta start somewhere, so here we are!

First of all we're reaching out to Palace fans, and contacting other Palace groups and Podcast makers/online groups etc to gather support and momentum.

We'll then be contacting the club for ways in which we can collectively take this forward.

We have also affiliated with the Stand Up to Racism campaign.

We'd love it if other club fan bases, especially those with similar problems would take up a similar challenge.

So thoughts, messages of support most welcome.

Thanks

I have not seen any racist flags or stickers myself either.

Hopefully this initiative will also include any racist chants / flags / stickers towards Israel or our Jewish fan base in the event we draw an Israeli team in the Europa league this upcoming season.

After all it's Palace4all....

I just want to support the football team that I have followed for many years and not have politics becoming involved in that

the only hate-speech i can report from Selhurst has been against any crappy under-performing players.

Whenever an Eagle scores a goal, black or white, everybody loves him.

And as for the accepting integration of ethnic minorities ? i hope that bloke in the French national squad doesn't get too much ribbing about his higher skin-cancer risks from the Sun.

On the one hand i commend your campaign, but on the other.....we are not a scummy club like Chelsea. You really need to do an anti racism Crusade in Eastern Europe and Russia - much more than South London.

And a question : will you vehemently be addressing any AntiSemitism too ? or any prejudice against Neurodiversity, the disabled, or the Elderly ?

Does your campaign include Sectarian abuse ? cos i know James McClean & Neil Lennon have been on the receiving end of a ton of vile threatening bullying. Often it was ignored by the Powers that be.

Wilfried Zaha did not agree with the 'taking the knee for BLM'......Having occasionally encountered prejudiced sectarianism myself, i do not need an overarching Nanny State to tell me which Paddy joke is, or is not, acceptable. So regarding any anti irish racism yis can feckoff with your Po-faced holier-than-thou do-gooder lectures.

Kick Politics out of Football.

That ship has well and truly sailed, judging by the number of social media/LBC discussions questioning whether Black players should represent England, or whether the French team truly represents France. it’s clear that race and racism in and at football matches is topical (has it ever gone away) right now. That doesn’t mean we should sit back and do nothing—education remains essential.

Must admit I'm genuinely interested if this comes from something thats happened/is happening vs generally being the right thing to do.

In the 25 odd years I've been at Palace the only racist things I've seen or heard have been against some of the Asian players, but still pretty rare. Obviously quite a lot of homophobic chanting .

Fat players too. Always been a bit of discrimination towards our metabolism impaired players. And the disabled ones (Wickham, Ferguson etc)
