Read a striking thing today, apparently after the FA cup final Deano was gripped by something akin to a bout of depression sufficient to make him not want to get out of bed for three days.
No idea if he's suffered with that sort of thing before. He didn't say so. A few articles suggested it might be the comedown from such an epic high. Apparently that's been observed in top sports people before.
A reminder that for all they get paid these are very much human beings who operate on emotions first and foremost.
He did say he wondered if it was the booze, before anyone suggests it!
