Palace in a European Final !!!

I feel the mood on this forum has been rather downbeat recently.
I'm a relatively new convert to CPFC compared with many on here, but for most of you the idea of Palace in Europe, let alone in a Final, would have been the stuff of dreams.
I acknowledge the limitations of this particular trophy, but just think about it, the footballing eyes of Europe will be on our Club on Wednesday. It raises our profile, creates more interest and is further evidence of our progession. That makes me incredibly proud.
We should all be feeling good this week.

Don’t be worrying about the ‘limitations’ of the competition, if you’re a new palace fan and/or you’re from across the pond, you might want to look up ‘the zenith data systems cup’ until we won the fa cup, those of us old enough prattled on about winning that since we won it in 1991🤣

I’ve been thinking that since the group stage and I know the standard of opposition is not great but we have put in good performances against Fiorentina and Shakhtar who have European pedigree so I’m more than confident for Wednesday, although I do expect a long stressful night 😅

To be fair we have played Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool in recent weeks. The Bournemouth loss was the obligatory European hangover off the back of the Shaktar win and we got draws against Brentford and Everton who we never do great against.

Although they aren't to be underestimated I don't think they are too great themselves. We'll be fine on the day.

Doubt it Keown got sent off in the league game a few weeks later for a very late challenge on Ninja, which kept him out of the midweek trip to Liverpool.
