Strasbourg beat us. Then Vallecano beat Strasbourg. Rayo Vallecano are mid-table in La Liga.
Ever since they started winning everything, i took a dislike to the arrogance and swagger of Spanish football. Tons of cheating & diving. Playing the referee like a ball. All the Spanish behaving like they won the World Cup ( and a ton of club European silverware) or something. From the thuggish cynicism of Athletico Madrid to the superior arrogance of Barca/Real Madrid.
Nasty Spanish clubs, tapping into half a billion population of Latin American clubs to get talent in. Doing so on the cheap. Meanwhile everybody raises their transfer prices when the Prem boys ride into town. Its like a two-tier transfer-market. This to match the two-tier Restaurants on the Costa del Sol....one price for the locals and double the price for all the Guiri's*. And its not just for buying a football player or a plate of Paella. When a Guiri owns property in Spain he will routinely be charged double for building works, bureaucracy, purchase price, even getting his bins collected. Two Tier is alive and well.
And us poor humble Premier League clubs, swimming in their wake. With our tired old football stadia, high ticket prices and always getting ripped off in the transfer market. And also the Home Nation teams's empty trophy cabinets. Its not fair.
