Why the premier league don’t see any issue with appointing a referee from Manchester for a Man Utd game? Surely there has to be a conflict of interest there? Ruined the game in my opinion. Even die hard MUFC fan Mark Goldridge was calling it harsh!

Have you ever met a Man United fan from Manchester? Would be more worried if he was Chinese.

Being born somewhere & growing up/living somewhere doesn't di-cry a ref from doing his officiating. Eg: I was born in Bermuda, but, declared my support for the Palace, as do all refs, therefore when I was officiating, I was never allowed to do Palace games. When I had to retire from the level I was at(EFL/UEFA), I then became an Assessor, still never allowed to assess a ref involving Palace games.

Crumb of comfort, maybe, KMI, are looking at this, won't change the result, but, hey, small crumb of comfort. The HYS on the bbc's match report is all against that decision.
