Interviews with Palace fans?

Hi guys!

It has been a minute and a half since I've been here. I think I registered something like 20 years ago as a far away Palace fan in my early 20's. I've kept the site bookmarked ever since, but rarely popped my head in for many, many years. Still follow Palace very closely.

I the intervening years I've become a sports reporter in my home country of Finland and lo and behold, I was assigned to the Palace-KuPS Conference League match next week.

Palace have been less than enthusiastic about giving any kind of access to a foreign journo, not surprising in Premier League terms. I was hoping, though, to do a story about Palace supporters during my trip next week.

I'd be happy to talk to anyone who has been a regular at matches for a while and seen the club's ascent from Championship administration (twice!) to now being a Premier League mainstay and European contender.

Also, if possible, I'd like to talk to people with the Holmsdale Fanatics, such as they'd be interested, since an ultra style group in England is quite the rarity and as such very interesting from a sports culture perspective.

All in all I'm on a very benign mission, just looking to write about how much (or little) Palace has changed since their more difficult years not so long ago, and what all that means to local supporters.

If you want to reach out elsewhere than here, you can get me at janne.oivio@gmail.com. I'll be checking for replies, unless this thread is unceremoniously dumped to the sands of time. I hope to hear from some of you soon to perhaps set up a quick chat.

I work for Sanoma Media Finland and write mainly in two of Finland's larger daily papers: Helsingin Sanomat and Ilta-Sanomat.

Thanks for any help you guys might provide!

Regards,

Janne Oivio
