Glasner seems doubtful that Sarr will return before AFCON, which itself runs until the 18th January. It's 48 days away, during which time we play a quite ridiculous 12 fixtures:
Burnley (A), Fulham (A), Shelbourne (A), City (H), KuPS (H), Leeds (A), Arsenal (A), Spurs (H), Fulham (H), Newcastle (A), Villa (H), Sunderland (A).
The difference before and after he went off yesterday shows how absolutely fundamental he is to our attacking play and, I'll be honest, I don't really know who is going to replace him.
Presumably it will be Nketiah to begin with but I have never been sold on him, especially not in that position.
Uche could be an option? I'm not aware that he's ever really played on the right, though, and Glasner seems to fancy him about as much as I fancy Susan Boyle. Plus he is potentially off to AFCON as well.
Esse is the most natural fit positionally but, again, he's got barely over 100 minutes this season and we're back in Glasner / Susan Boyle territory.
So, what do we do? Given that Mateta hasn't really been converting the chances he's been given this season, I'd suggest that the dip in creativity caused by Sarr missing is going to hit us pretty hard.
