Well at least Defoe doesn’t play for them any more. I recall he scored a hat trick (maybe even 4) at Selhurst Park. They thumped us last time they came.
They were 0-4 up at half time and Sunderland were bottom and hadn't won in ages. I think it was one of big Sams early games and he'd just spent to fair bit for Palace. We lost 2-5.Well at least Defoe doesn’t play for them any more. I recall he scored a hat trick (maybe even 4) at Selhurst Park.
I'm sure it stayed 0-4, Sunderland have recruited well, Xhaka is a briiliant acquisition for them, they're on that promotion bounce but even without Wharton and Sarr I think we now have enough strength in depth to cope - Hughes and Lerma in the middle and Pinto in place of Sarr, Devenny and Uche can come on, Kamada on the left of the front three or dropping into midfield, the main problem, as someone else pointed out, is integrating new players quickly, but our system is set and new players should be able to fit in without too much adjustment. I remember that well. When you look back it’s pretty remarkable Big Sam kept us up relatively comfortably in the end. We were an utter shambles when he arrived. Bought PVA, Schlupp and Luka in that window all for around £14m as I recall. All turned out to be good signings in their own way.Well at least Defoe doesn’t play for them any more. When Allardyce was appointed after 17 games we were in 17th place having lost 8 out of our 10 previous games. We finished in 14th place.I remember that well. I'm with you on that, mate. I'd say draw too.A victory would be great against Sunderland who have started life back in the PL well.
Main thing is to keep our unbeaten run going -so a draw would be acceptable and probably most likely !
Crikey Willo, that's positive from you.We have been defeated by Sunderland on their last 3 visits to Selhurst Park.
Our last Home victory against them was in 2013.
I predict a 1-1 draw.
