Sunderland Predictions.

We are on a long run of being unbeaten and I see nothing other than a home win and another valuable three points.
3-1 Palace.

This could be a very tough game. Looks like Sarr out, maybe Guehi and Lerma, Munoz, Richard's and Kamada returning late from far flung places. Plus, Sunderland have started well and probably on a bit of a high.

2-0 Palace!

I expect to see a few new signings start. Could be a little disjointed.

But our defence line is solid. Could be a hard fought 2-1 victory.

Well at least Defoe doesn’t play for them any more. I recall he scored a hat trick (maybe even 4) at Selhurst Park.
They were 0-4 up at half time and Sunderland were bottom and hadn't won in ages. I think it was one of big Sams early games and he'd just spent to fair bit for Palace. We lost 2-5.

I'm sure it stayed 0-4, Sunderland have recruited well, Xhaka is a briiliant acquisition for them, they're on that promotion bounce but even without Wharton and Sarr I think we now have enough strength in depth to cope - Hughes and Lerma in the middle and Pinto in place of Sarr, Devenny and Uche can come on, Kamada on the left of the front three or dropping into midfield, the main problem, as someone else pointed out, is integrating new players quickly, but our system is set and new players should be able to fit in without too much adjustment. Home win 2-1.

Team could be odd, the pre-match press conference will say a lot. Have to expect Wharton and Sarr to be missing at a minimum but Pino has a question mark too having pulled out of the Spain squad. Guehi should be fine having played 90 mins yesterday.

Henderson

Richards Lacroix Guehi

Munoz Hughes Lerma Mitchell

Kamada Pino

Mateta

Benitez, Clyne, Canvot, Sosa, Devenny, Uche, Esse, + 2

Something like that? Last updates suggested Wharton and Nketiah could be back around the start of October.

I remember that well. When you look back it’s pretty remarkable Big Sam kept us up relatively comfortably in the end. We were an utter shambles when he arrived. Bought PVA, Schlupp and Luka in that window all for around £14m as I recall. All turned out to be good signings in their own way.

When Allardyce was appointed after 17 games we were in 17th place having lost 8 out of our 10 previous games. We finished in 14th place.
The signings of PVA, Schlupp and Milivojevic equated to nearly £40 Mill when one includes the add-ons.
He also signed Sakho on Loan, the Loan fee being £2 Mill.

'Crystal Palace are proud to be working with the Premier League, to launch the ‘Together Against Suicide’ campaign, helping fans affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts'.

This is especially relevant to the Sunderland game.

I remember the last one.

🙂🙂🙂🙂

We'll be missing Sarr's punch and Whartons guile, but I'm optimistic both Pino and Uche can help fill the void.

Sunderland will be coming for a draw and will be motivated, organised and hard to break down which doesn't typically suit us...

But Ollie will find a way. Ugly 1-0 win with a goal in the last 25 mins. We all go home happy and get stuck into the beers.

Our run keeps going 2-1 to Palace. I read somewhere that Sunderland have 10 African players away in January at the AFCON which could be their undoing. They will fade and be near the bottom come the Spring….
