This is really a post about the blogosphere and the click bait tosh you get on NewsNow etc.

Every day there is a rumour linking JP with another club in the EPL, PSG etc. Today, apparently, Leeds are making this their priority signing for January.

Leeds!?

Perhaps in the day of Martyn, they could have predated on us. But now?

Complete tosh and, to my knowledge, the only EPL club left not linked with JP is Burnley. Give it time though...

They are owned by wealthy red bull though and I think that promoted sides can spend what they like for a couple of transfer windows before worrying about PSR.

No surprise JPM is being linked with lots of clubs. Proven Premier League striker playing for a mid table club. Always going to be lots of rumours about him. If I were an Arsenal fan I’d have rather spent the money on JPM than Gyokeres.

Will be a similar story to Guehi if JPM doesn’t want to sign a new contract.

At that point we may be happy for him to leave.

Yes, Emmanuel Emegha, of Strasbourg, is an almost clone of Mateta but at 22, he is on 14k a week, i would be very happy to get him in January, even if it means selling Mateta, if he isn't going to sign a new contract.

JP will be 30 when his current contract expires. How much of an extension would you give him if he were willing to sign? Personally, if Emegha is an genuine option, should we take the plunge and let Mateta go in January if the price is good and he wanted to go?

It will be interesting to see how Uche settles. He seems to have risen quickly in Spain and was well regarded by his club and their fans. Is he a potential striker?

Letting JP go in January would seem very high risk to me. Of all the players we have right now you could argue he’s the most important. Delivers the goals and his physical presence up front and hold up play is critical to OG’s way of playing. We don’t have anyone else who can do that yet. I think a summer transfer is likely but hope we keep him for the whole of this season.

Did anybody see Woltenande’s performance for Germany (the new £70+ million striker for Newcastle)?
He’s only 23, and perhaps he was having an off day, but JPM looked a much better option as a striker at least at present.

With regard to Palace we could be watching a similar scenario to Guehi unfolding.
Many stories about discussions on a new contract, but ultimately no pen put to paper.
I believe JPM will have one year left at the end of the season , on the basis that Palace exercise their option .
It could be stick or twist again, as with Guehi.

This will definitely happen IMHO.

Next summer he will have one season left of his contract.

In January if we get a £40m offer on paper that looks a decent price, however, assuming we are still in Europe it would be madness to sell him. Eddie is just not an appropriate replacement and JP fits the Glasner formation so well.

Next summer we may need to reconsider.

Never a dull moment at Palace

We won't have seen it coming though will we.

Seeing Leeds wanting him did make laugh.

Also saw a report that Newcastle and Villa are also interested.

Newcastle - have just signed Centre Forwards.
Villa - having just beat them again, I doubt he would interested in them

I think he loves it here, but also it has a lot to do with the managerial situation.

If we don't get Emegha in January, he will probably be beyond our reach, youtube him, cant believe a player can be so similar 6'6'', 22, a must for OGs tactics.
