Despite the fact that 'infantile' or whatever his name is said that the 2030/34 would be in Africa, no money there i guess. As for the 'vote' it was done by 'acclimation' ie, delegates clapping in front of their cameras as it was all done by video link. I shyte you not.
 
I hope Israel qualify, just for the political tension.

The whole tournament to be played in a "yet-to-be-built" football city, with 15 imaginary state of the art stadiums. Where people will be tele-ported to games from their also yet-to-be-built hotels.
All this from an incredibly rich nation built on the continuing energy export of fossil fuels

More needs to be said about how FIFA gave the world up to 3 continents in 2030 - (Europe, Africa & 3 games in South America) just so Saudi Arabia could bid unopposed due to only Asia and Oceania being eligible to bid - Australia would of been the only viable bid but never would of won so didnt bother

Saudi literally announced their bid 5 mins after FIFA announced as such

The whole thing stinks and always does with FIFA.

South America have given up the right to not host a world cup from 2014 - 2042 at the earliest which is ludicrous really, for a paltry 3 games

I would Recommended the FIFA corruption documentary on Netlfix - bit long winded, but sures how dirty and corrupt FIFA and football had become - especially for the 2018/2022 bid which was laughable looking back.

I hope the Saudis put on a good world cup being said, and potentially bring about change - but seen it all with qatar already
 
I think the Norwegians and the Swiss abstained, however our own dear moral FA voted for it because the Saudi's gave them money err I meant assurances.

I don't like politics in sport mainly because double standards apply.

So the FA is fine with a racist* bigoted country winning the bid just as long as they are not racist and bigoted for the one month of the tournament.

Compare that to Apartheid where the governments of the world endorsed a total sport boycott because you cannot have a normal event in an abnormal society.

I await David Beckham popping up with his hand held out.

Wonder if they'll allow beer and withdraw it a day before the tournament? Budweiser doesn't even count as alcohol iny book. Joke's on any c*** that goes to it.
I really think the time has come for the top leagues to break away from FIFA and UEFA. Let them have all the sh1t countries in the world and carry on the bribery.
The Premier League first, followed by Germany, Italy, Spain - maybe Holland, Denmark, France - plus anyone else decent that wants to - and form a new association with rotating international cups every two years or so. I don't even care if there's a super league.

The Qatar WC went off alright so dont see any reason why this one wont be as much a success . The WC is run by FIFA and the broadcasting companies Saudi are just the hosts .
As Saudi look toward tourism as being a major income stream the relaxing of its alcohol laws will be on its agenda and in 10 years time will likely be comparable to Qatar with fan zones serving up warm Budwieser as well as hotels having the chance of a cold one .

The only pain is that it's in the middle of our season but we can live with that .
