How have we come to this?

1. The Manager is palpably and vocally unhappy.
2. Why - because Steve Parish has let him down two years running
3. We knew that Eze and Guehi would be leaving a long time ago
4. But no steps were taken to find replacements
5. Glasner wanted new players in the early window - twice he has been ignored
6. We are blatantly ill-equipped to tackle the Conference League (let alone the PL)
6. Now we have 10 days left and replacements will be hard to find - and more expensive because all
clubs know we are desperate.
7. Many pundits said we had a great chance of winning the Conference
8. After last night that began to seem fanciful
9. Eze and his shoot-on-sight penchant (reminiscent of Zaha) was sorely missed.
10. Poor old Devenny looked lost and skilfully lacking
11. The whole team had really no idea on how to break down a defensive block
12. I fear for our next match against Forest, who have spent considerably.
13. Parish citing distractions of the UEFA saga and PSR worries cannot be excused
14. He has lost the 'bigger picture' by endangering the future of the best manager we have had in many years.
15. If because of this we fail to qualify for the CL proper or have a bad PL run there is only one person to blame.

All so stupid and completely unnecessary.

A brilliant summation!

Happens every year, how many times have we seen it happen. Seeing Glasner on that sky interview earlier wouldn't be at all surprised to see him walk, and I wouldn't blame him. He looked really pi$$ed off, you can only gauge how things are by what he is saying, can't you.

This sums it up very well. Just about the whole fan base is asking your question. In fact listening to the manager so is he.

Both Tony Pulis & big Sam Allardyce left us due to a lack of financial ambition. I believe this was the case.
Now i know we do not have the deep pockets of many Prem clubs, but surely somebody somewhere can square the circle. a) ambition and b) financial probity.

any suggestions ?

surely Glasner's mobile is already hopping with job-offers ? both in the Prem and in Europe.

follow the link below and see what a village-hamlet gave us a tough game. Its got three coffee shops. That's even less than the Upper Norwood/ crystal palace triangle.

Elon Musk.

It was so telling that Ch5 kept cutting away the visuals on OG's interview to the Parish entourage trying to hear what Glasner was saying - seems like the "trust" has gone in that relationship .... can it be repaired. The body language of Steve was not great to see unfortunately. After the elation of Wembley it's all unravelling at warp speed it seems. Turmoil behind the scenes, probably new dynamics in the boardroom and a CEO/Chairman very much on the back foot.

Watching whu v Chelsea and recalling how we were rumoured to be looking at Paqueta, His movement is eze like and he just scored an amazing goal. Guess we can forget that very unlikely dream

I have a sickening feeling in my stomach that Nuno is gonna get relieved of his duties and our favourite Greek fella is going to come calling for Ollie.

That'd really be a knife in the back.

West Ham will be looking for a new coach soon. Diouf and wan bissaka as wing backs, Paqueta as an Eze. Glasner would work wonders there with his tactics and their budget.
Until we see September 1st and a big effort in new players it is going to be a nervy August.
