Farewell Eze?

I think Eze's substitution and body language, 10 mins before the end, told us what we already knew. He has been brilliant and served up many memorable moments and showed commitment today. But I can't help thinking that his form at the end of last season told us we had seen the best of his talent in a Palace shirt.
I wish him well in his new job.

He did look like he was done but I just don’t see spuds paying for him the amount we want, unless Parish drops the price and why would he. By all accounts the release clause has now lapsed?

We are going to miss him - unless Dougie's successor (if we have one) can dig out a diamond from the lower leagues or from abroad we will be in trouble. Especially when all the world knows we need a new skilful, playmaking and scoring No.10. Our only chance might be to hire from Brighton's recruitment team.

Getting Guehi's replacement will be only marginally easier (but expensive)

Losing two king-pins will be difficult to replace.

It was not a tip-top performance by Eze, we all know he is capable of reaching the heights he never reached today.
His decision of attempting to shoot over Suarez was poor given the players he had in support in promising situations.

It's interesting how these buy out clauses are now working. If they terminate before the window closes the buying club can just wait till they expire and offer a lower amount. And by waiting the selling club has little time to use the money. Not sure this really offers much protection to the selling club.
And separately, does anyone know if Eze plays for us on Thursday is he cup tied for all European club matches, including the Champions League.

Brighton don't have a good recruitment team. They use algorithms from Opta that analyse whether players will fit in well with their system. We can buy that too without hiring human beings from Brighton. Anyone can.

Actually, slight caveat to that is I think they do utilise human analysts to work with these, but I don't think you'd need to poach personnel for it.

He will only be ruled out of games against Lyon, Brondby and Botafogo.

Yep the decision to shoot over Suarez was poor, seeing that it was Sanchez in goal 😂😂

Bollocks

This thread is a tad premature don't you think? The lad may not have been at the top of his game today (except that fabulous and ridiculously ruled out free kick≥) but I haven't seen anything telling me he's definitely going.
He's staying, as is Guehi. Because I said so.
