With all the time spent at the Club World Cup, I couldn't think of a better time to play Chelsea. Not and 'easy' start to the season but nothing is in the Premier League.

Not very nice that lot. I'd like to see the mix in with the Europa League fixtures.

Opening away to Chelsea and ending with Arsenal. Thanks PL.

The games look harder every year.

Forest for the first home game? The computer has a sense of humour.

Playing Fulham twice within a few weeks before we have played Newcastle. Seems odd.

I don't care, we won the blooming Cup last year so don't fear anyone.

TBH, we always start awfully too so a few tough fixtures out the way may not be the worst thing if it's same again this season.

COYP!!! Feels so long away though 🙁

Against teams that finished last season in 4th, 6th and 7th places.
Correct Willo

Which is why it is strange that the bbc reports OPTA giving us the second easiest start of all the PL clubs

Though we do have an excellent record against Villa and Chelsea should be slowly getting up to speed as their current season is still ongoing. Hopefully we'll be nicely warmed up after the Charity Shield while Chelsea will still be rolling up their beach towels.

We will (hopefully) have “tough” fixtures after every Europa League matchday…..

Exactly 🏆, plus we’ve got to play them all eventually, so who cares what order they come in?
We could have a tough run of fixtures but be injury free and in better form than when we have a so called easy run of fixtures, so you never know, it’s a long season with many variables

I wouldn't be surprised to see us make a bright start after the clusterf*ck of last preseason, with the elation of winning a trophy possibly providing us with positive impetus heading into the new season (a bit like how newly promoted clubs sometimes get a bounce). A lot, of course, will likely depend on incomings and outgoings and whether we are in Europe.

Our 1st home game v Forest will be moved, as they have their 1st leg qualifying round for the Conference League on Thurs 21st Aug(2nd leg - 28th)
Excellent knews eagleman, thanks for that, I’m down in Margate for a sex pistols gig(I know, don’t judge me) on Saturday 23rd and was hoping we’d be away up north, so I was a bit disappointed we were at home that day
