Perhaps a better decision would have been to check with the Met police if there were any planned demos in Trafalgar Square before announcing the meet up?
Of course, I couldn’t agree more. But as the situation became apparent, it is a swift and decisive decision. We all appreciate the efforts to generate great atmospheres and lifelong memories for those who attend. As long as it stays peaceful and respectful.
