Palace fans stopped central London

Marching through central London yesterday was incredible. The tourists wondered what on earth was going on.

When you say Tourists,
Is that the fans at the game who don't attend our other not so glamorous home & away games......
Plenty of those there
WTF dont be a misery, its best just to enjoy being a Palace fan right now! Our ground only holds 22k home supporters would you have preferred 13k empty seats in our allocation at Wembley yesteday. And our away allocation at most EPL games is only between 1k to 3k. Lots of us fans can't attend even if we want too.
Its times like these in that create the next generation(s) of Palace fans and when the new main stand is completed will help ensure all seats are taken.

Am I the only one that thinks this whole Cov Garden takeover and marching down Oxford street is just so crass and unnecessary?

Just get to the Green Man and have a sing song
Yes you might be! Lots of colouful Palace fans having a nice walk and sing-song making the day one of the most memorable in recent times! We cant all fit in the Green Man, I know this from queuing last time we were in the semi's

A historic day for our club.

We aren't a Chelsea, Liverpool, City etc etc.

So why shouldn't we enjoy something like the Covent Garden meet ?

Some people will always find something to moan about.

I don’t get to that many games these days due to work. I used to be able to turn up on the day/evening, get a ticket go in and watch the game but you can’t fo that anymore and I never really know if I’ll be done at 12pm or 3pm (on a Saturday I normally work up until kick off then watch the game).

Does this make me less of a fan?

Now when I go I buy a premium seat sitting in the directors box, nice bit of food and drink, chat to a few ex players and make a day of it. If I go to the final, the tickets will be £1500 each upwards. Does that make me a better fan than you? No is the answer.

People’s circumstances are all different, of course more people make an effort for special occasions… because it’s a special occasion. Doesn’t mean red and blue is not running through their veins same as the people that go every game home and away.

The main supporters have no issues with people enjoying themselves. The 'tourists' cannot always attend matches. I live in 250 miles from Selhurst Park but have supported Palace since 1961.

It's supporters like the drunken morons in block 546 row 4 seats 203-207 endangering others that do not encourage me to go to home games.

Sorry to hear that - but not relevant to the Covent Garden topic

I tend to agree . Don't think you or I want to spoil anyones fun . The point being not to spoil anyones fun which bringing central London to a standstill will almost certainly do . No better than the eco warriors in that respect .

Yes and all those selfish bloody marathon runners today should stay at home and jog on the spot too😬

It made a change for London to be brought to a standstill by something actually relevant to London.
Exactly, it's central London on a Saturday, there's 80,000 trying to get on a tube to Wembley Park, in addition to everything else going on. It was good natured, supporters and bystanders alike enjoyed it and nobody complained. (Well, until it was mentioned on here😂)
