After starting as a poacher, under Arteta he first learned to drop deep and link play and then to play on the left wing to cut inside and to interchange with with our LW.
He saw off Auba and then Laca. When Jesus was injured during that poxy mid-season world cup and we were leading City in the league, by the time Jesus came back our lead was still as big and Eddie scored some sexy as well as poachers' goals.
He's just not big enough for our system. Arteta wants 6'2"+ at CF, inside left and DM.
Eddie would be great in an old skool big man, little man front 2. And he just needs a run in the team. He was denied a goal in the 2-2 at ours last week by a great block from Kiwior. We signed him 2 years ago, and while we'd used him at LB, he'd never had a chance in the LCH position he made his name in Italy playing. But with Gabriel and Calafiori injured, he got his chance vs Real and looked great. Our Rolls Royce Saliba gifted you a goal {like he did Real} but Kiwior saved us one with that back heeled block against Eddie {as well as scoring.}
Let's hope Eddie gets his chance for you and plays so well your fans my age think it's Wrighty on the pitch.
