Heathrow is always more. But Gatwick will be miles cheaper. The obvious thing to do is stay in Croydon and go with the Palace fans to Wembley. However, travelling to Wembley from Gatwick is fine. I presume you'll need to change somewhere:

I have the 11 o clock flight from Dublin to Gatwick on Saturday morning.
Train to London bridge and then jubilee line straight to Wembley.
Or you can get train to Clapham junction and then train to Wembley central.
If you go stanstead. You can get stanstead express to Liverpool Street and then metropolitan line straight to Wembley. Easy enough.

Also just in case we do get the final I booked a flight on 17th may Saturday morning to stanstead for 14 euro. No big deal then if we don't make or I'll stay the night and get the wolves game on the Sunday.
