Thanks Chaps! His father is actually Adam, who was son of our own Paul( Doris) Hinshelwood.
I know what mean midlands, frightening isn’t? Genuinely gutted when I heard Doris had died. I know we don’t know these fellas personally, but they certainly leave their mark with the memories they give us, especially as youngstersI had quite a shock when his name first popped up as I thought to myself that I can remember watching his father play little realising that it was actually his grandfather
Paul Hinslewood has no connection with Brighton, apart from his brother playing for them. Why would Brighton be interested in such a tenuous link. When Luton play Morecambe, the winners are awarded the Eric Morecambe Trophy because of the comedian’s links to the two clubs. As Doris left us not very long ago, would it be appropriate if a Paul Hinshelwood Memorial Trophy could be instituted, and awarded to the winner of matches between Palace and Brighton?
This would of course require discussions between the 2 clubs and the Hinshelwood family, and might perhaps be a more positive way of recognizing our rivalry.
I have always thought that we have never had an elite right back and Hinshelwood might be the best, by default. Another season or so of Munoz playing as well as he does and he would be my pickPaul Hinshelwood is in my all time best palace team and one of my favourite players, so having the name Hinshelwood connected with the weed has always niggled me a bit
He only played for Palace and injury curtailed his career very early. He did coach and manage BrightonInterestingly,Martin Hinshelwood, who played for both clubs, proudly flies his Albion flag from his chimney down in Selsey, and today it is flown half mast !!😅
Can’t argue with thatI have always thought that we have never had an elite right back and Hinshelwood might be the best, by default. Another season or so of Munoz playing as well as he does and he would be my pick
