Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match thread

It's worth getting a bit of perspective here. Wolves recently came very close to taking a point from Arsenal, undone by a 94th minute own goal after a heroic rear guard action. They too sold their best players.

    Calling Parish.

Unfortunately Glasner has overused Mateta to the point where others are merely bench warmers. Rather than give them decent minutes and the opportunity to express themselves, feeling a genuine part of the team, they come on for the briefest cameo moments. Ironically Glasner is now having to use...

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match thread

You more or less echo my argument. The system that brought a brief period of success is now failing due to its very inflexible nature, and that of a manager incapable (thus far) of attempting anything different. As it stands, with players missing and those you name as replacements, it doesn't...

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match thread

After a period of being able to go toe to toe with any team in the country, we have, through a set of circumstances of our own making, devolved back to Royball, that is, defending and hoping for a lucky break. The wheels are falling off the cart, and despite the heroic effort yesterday it is...

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match thread

The fighting spirit was there but not enough quality to threaten during the 90 minutes. It's over now thankfully, time to concentrate on the league.

    Why Parish shouldn’t resign!

I look at it from when Parish took over to where we are now. It's been a steady improvement to the point where we actually won something and got into Europe for the first time. From where we were that's quite an achievement. Maybe in another universe it would have happened without Parish, but in...

Nothing has gone wrong, normal service has resumed.

    Why Parish shouldn’t resign!

At the beginning of the season I said we would finish 12th and that OG would be off once his contract expired. I also suggested that an 8th place finish would show a marked sign of progress. As for Europe, thus far it has proven our unpreparedness. Unless the purse strings are loosened in...

    Relegation battle 25-26

That would have been us if Parish had sold Guehi.

    Arsenal Predictions.

Palace win, the result against Leeds was a piece of cunning kidology.

    Why Parish shouldn’t resign!

    Isn't that constructive dismissal?

    Why Parish shouldn’t resign!

Yeah, that's why Parish was just about to sell captain Guehi just before the season was about to start...

    Why Parish shouldn’t resign!

This post is far too sensible for its own good. Parish out, Chinese billionaire conglomerate in!

    Calling Parish.

I think you may be onto something; the way Richards headed the ball into the danger zone rather than away for their first goal looked highly suspicious...

Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

Indeed, it was mentioned by many on here. One doesn't have to have a degree in Hindsight Studies to know that after winning the FA Cup it would mean extra games in one Euro competition or other and investment in the playing squad should have taken precedence. Instead Parish faffs about with UEFA...

Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

Is Mateta looking to leave or is he fishing for a new contract? Why is he playing if he has a knee problem? Is Uche not given starts because the club has no intention of buying him?

Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

If, as suggested, Mateta is carrying a knee problem, well then that is poor management. Or it could be that Mateta has reverted to his early days under Roy.

Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

I was supportive of Glasner's statement re investing. Fact is he has no alternate system when things go arse up, as they inevitably do. Doesn't try a change in formation to suit the situation. But it's all been said before. Let's hope that this game teaches a harsh lesson to all involved.

Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

Glasner's been found out. Complains about fixture pile up then plays a side in Europe that contributes to it. Says he needed to so his players would be fresh for this game... No, it's all rather one dimensional and some of the players aren't as good as we thought. Need to steady the ship now and...

Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

It's as I suggested in another post: the wheels are slowly coming off the cart. OG has his system and his players, and 3 of them happen to be missing. The signs have been there for a number of weeks, missed chances galore, poor performances in Europe, too many games - it all adds up.
