Crystal Palace vs. AEK Larnaka match thread

And this is the crux of it. The number of gilt edged chances going missing is truly shocking. Mateta bundling in a goal for France, hitting a hat trick and then missing a absolute sitter sums him up perfectly. Unless the percentages improve, and the midfield starts to chime in with a few goals...

Crystal Palace vs. AEK Larnaka match thread

We struggle against the low block, it's a legitimate tactic to which we have no answer. Glasner is plan A and very little plan B.

Crystal Palace vs. AEK Larnaka match thread

It's like one of those inept performances under Hodgson where the team has no idea how to break the opposition down. Thoughts of going far in this competition might need reappraisal after this tosh.

    Wilfried Zaha return

Wilf must still hurt from when his beloved Arsenal passed him over for his compatriot Pepe for the mere sum of £72m, more or less what Parish wanted for Wilf, and yet Pepe had had no Prem experience whilst Wilf was tried and tested. And there I think you have it.

    Wilfried Zaha return

It is for the very reason that we don't have him that we have won things. The current manager sees strength in unity and Zaha is one of those pouting prima donna types who was erroneously pandered by previous managers. He even had his big chance with a move to the biggest club in the land...

Quite correct. We're headed for our customary 12th spot finish, albeit with extra games in Europe, ho ho!

    Lenny Henry

Lenny Henry surely knows the role played by African chiefs and leaders in the enslavement of black Africans? Coining it in the slave market through the capture and sale of their fellow man? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_apologies_for_the_Atlantic_slave_trade

Seeing that Salisbury was born near Preston, I was wondering if he had something against Wharton and Blackburn? As you mention, to constantly single out a player for supposed misdemeanours is very odd indeed.

JPM is in the kind of form in front of goal that gave Edouard his chance, some of his misses have been horrendous. This game should have been put away long before the penalty, let alone the winner.

UEFA Conference League Dynamo Kyiv v Palace Match Thread

The smooth movement of Pino, Kamada, and Wharton is a joy to behold! It all seems to have clicked into place, and I think this is becoming of a very sound defence and a top goalkeeper. Nketiah seems a happy chappie and I expect to see him have a good season with his new found confidence. All in...

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match thread

All they need is a couple of quick forward players and coordination between them and the ball player from the midfield or the back, easily sorted on the training pitch. I think OG mentioned their high line in one of his recent interviews.

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match thread

I don't want to detract from our attacking masterclass, as we exploited their set-up - they play a high line with relatively slow centre halves; just put that ball in behind van Dijk and Bob's your uncle...

    Humble pie over Parish anyone?

I mentioned it before and it's a valid point - I look at where we were in 2010 when a group of businessmen took over a failing club and I look at where we are in 2025. Parish was one of those businessmen and he's still here today, guiding the ship, pretty steadily in my estimation.

    Yeremy pino

We are now a better side without Eze, despite his abilities. Things have slotted nicely into place, every player knows what his role is and the whole seems far more coherent - the ebb and flow of our game is really quite pleasing on the eye, and we'll make chances aplenty against teams who play...
