We do ok at Selhurst but our record at Ashton Gate is horrendous. In fact anyone younger than 55ish has probably never witnessed a win there. March 1980 was the last time we won there. No wins in 12 visits.

Oh dear, I did try to warn you. Coach travel for any distance over 100 miles is a big NO.

I can't do long coach trips. My last time was the Play Off Final in Cardiff 2004. We left Selhurst and broke down on the A3, waited 2 hours for a replacement coach and nearly missed the ko. 7 hours to go less than 160 miles. I swore I would never travel again on the coach.

It will be interesting to see if Coventry make a bid for Esse now that they are 99% promoted and will have money to spend.

My view is he ran our club to the best of his ability and of course he made some mistakes. He had no previous experience and even if he had, each club has its own challenges. Give the guy some credit. He put his money up and had a go.

Anyone who sets up a business and sells it for 75m deserves respect. You can ask most entrepreneurs and they will say a fair amount is down to luck, quite often being in the right place at the right time is all it takes.
