What's the point of Dean Henderson?

Both Thursday and today, Dean seems to offer very little. Always hanging around the goal, and catching the ball every now and then. And he does nothing to break up the opposition. Not interested in tackling and seems far less committed to work than our other 10 on the pitch who put in a shift.
Am I wrong?

And is a bit over fond of a handball which referees seem to gloss over. And he hasn't scored in ever. Apart from not being offside very often the blokes a liability.

What amuses me is every time we play Man U, Mark Goldbridge says 'Oh Hendo's having a worldie against us'.

No, Hendo is a consistently great keeper and in 1 summer (2023) Man U managed to:
1) release de Gea
2) sign Onana £44m
3) sell Hendo £20m

Clowns. Didn't know football then, dont now.

He's there to stop the ball from going into the net behind him, it's rather the point of him being there in the first place, and as it turns out, he's really quite good at it! Who would have thought...
