Cup Final Ticket Phases

Surely this has to be improved for the final, doesn't it? As an ST holder, I think it should be done differently from the semi...

There are one of two options to reward the loyalist fans. Now, we all support the team in different ways, but when it comes to ticket allocation, most games attended should be the only thing that matters.

So either:

A) a points based system. Needs good judgement for the cut-offs, but it can't be that hard...

B) Phase 2 should be ST holders ONLY.

With all due respect to Gold members, anyone can chuck £60 at it right now to get in at the same time as someone who's been there every week, and there is no way that is fair. The cynical part of me suggests it could be a cash-grab by the club to get ST holders to stump up another £45 to be ST+ and be in Phase 1 as well as bumping the Gold Membership, but I hope I'm wrong.

And if you're a Gold member who's there most weeks, well that's why the points system was my first pick.

What does everyone think?

To be fair, there were so many tickets that no season ticket holders could've missed out so why is it an issue?

I had a season ticket for nearly 10 years, now I've just got a membership and there were loads available when I got mine
Our allocation for the final will be about 10,000 less than we had for the semi

No one is going to be happy and you can't please everyone.

It worked out well for me this time. In the past not so much. I missed out on the Fulham game and didn't complain 🤷🏻‍♂️

Everyone will get a ticket that wants to go to the game I am sure.

The problem will be solved if the FA give Palace a bigger allocation than City based on the empty seats at Wembley yesterday. City have won so much it doesnt mean anything to their fans anymore.
Well it matters to us Palace fans - so 40k allocation to Palace and 30k to City, c'mon FA you know it make sense! We just get to 'own' Wembley even more than we did last Saturday! COYP

When do we reckon sales will start, I'm abroad next week and that ticket website is abysmal, I don't fancy my chances on a dodgy 4g connection and trying to click on a pin point with my thumb

It's not quite that simple - I'm a Gold member so obviously biased, but you had to have been a Gold member and had purchase history before March 28th AND purchased your membership before April 9th for the semis. I think that would cut out people who hadn't already shown some level of commitment.

I think prioritising those who showed up for the semi would make sense though.

Exactly how I feel about it. I am a gold member from the Netherlands and go to Palace games on average 3 times a season (so not that much loyalty points). Unfortunately, I couldn't attend during the semi-final, but I can attend the final.

I would find it completely fair if gold members who did go to the semi-final get priority, but the reason I got a gold membership at the start of the season is precisely because it gives me priority in terms of buying tickets. It should just be that members who bought a membership after the semi-final should be excluded.

On the subject of ticket staging and rewarding loyalty, although a bit left field how about those fans who attended the 1990 and 2016 finals to be given some kind of priority too?
Much as I would benefit from this, it’s nonsense, you couldn’t do that!! there’s a lot of younger fans who are a lot more loyal than me and wouldn’t deserve to be behind me in the queue just because I’m an old bugger🤣

We should be given 5000 more than City. That is a punishment to them for not using their semi final allocation!
So we would get 35000 seats giving all our fans at the semi the chance to reclaim their seats.
(This of course will never happen)

I do agree with this though, shocking how many empty seats there were on Sunday…! Place looked half empty on TV, entire blocks unoccupied.

Also disappointed with number of premium seats that were empty on Saturday though and surprised more effort wasn’t put into flogging them.

There wouldn't be any from 1990!! The Zenith data cup was 1991. Which we won.
Oh yes there would I was at both. Personally I think that the ticket allocation should be done on the Loyalty Points system, Away Season Ticket Holders get Stage 1,followed by Season Ticket Holders that have accumulated points not just by having a Season Ticket but attending Away matches, buying merchandise, spending money on food/drink etc prior to home games......then Gold Members who possibly have only contributed that Membership Fee. That may upset some people but on an attendance basis that is the fairest way.
