I bought a DVD player from Curry's just before Christmas.
Charidee shops selling top filums for £1 to £1.50 is super value. When I've watched them a few times, back to the charidee shop to drop them off and pick up a couple more.
I'm a bit of a book snob, and people rarely throw out my kind of reading. But I did pick up a 1st edition of Jaws (Hardback and dustcover), by Peter Benchley, for 50p, but that was 25 years ago. charidee shops are much more on-the-ball with stuff of value. Sometimes a bit over-priced, compared to the internet.
They are much like a pair of old grannies knickers. Probably not your usual place, but worth a rummage while you're there.
