I think this is why the PL have taken so long to come to judgement and why they had to get it 100% right that any appeal would fail .As you say everyone will be out for their pound of flesh , runners up , teams that missed out on Europe and those that may have been relegated when the league tables are re-calculated .
For me Mansour should be forced to sell for a pittance ,he has been proven to be not fit to own a football club .FIFA could support the FA by taking away the 2034 world cup but I wont hold my breath on that one .The cheat should not be allowed to prosper nor get any public recognition in the football world ,he has been found to be a lying cheat .

Under new ownership the PL could possibly not impose penalties that the mob are baying for . We have to take into consideration the hundreds of jobs connected with the club , the youth and societal programmes that they run .We can't destroy all that just so we can say 'serves you right' even if it would

As well as the owners being thrown out I say would all winning competitions marked with a * Cheated (just as a reminder to people for a thousand years ) , a 10 year transfer embargo , a points reduction that ensures them playing next season in the Championship and a fine . I lose count when it gets to 6 figures so will leave that to others to suggest . Basically they have to be turned into Preston North End overnight .

But yes the ongoing fallout will be massive ,even Palace could probably find a case for a couple of million in compo

True but with (as all footballers love to say) respect to Paul Dickov watching them then was not the same as seeing Handsome Harry Haaland smashing your team to pieces.
 
On the face of it , considering the extent of the charges, only a massive penalty can be thought adequate . If that doesn’t happen the whole structure of the Premier league is in danger because what’s good for the goose is good for the Ganda . A lenient outcome will cause wide spread abuse by other clubs.
Having said that ,are Man Cty too big to fail? If so it will have to be accepted that the Premier league has no real workable rules. Not my idea of football but I suspect the mega club supporters won’t give a monkeys.
 
The punishment must be fit for purpose else the PL will find it has further woes.

Already other clubs, players, agents, managers etc are taking legal advice. What is at stake is loss of earning e.g. player would have got a bonus if their club had qualified for Champions League or in the case of Chelscum won the PL.

If the PL get it right lawsuits for loss of income will be directed to Man City but say the PL gets it wrong and let's City off the hook. I can see the lawsuits also including the PL as co-defendant.
 
Have looked at this issue over the last few years and yesterdays judgement cements the pattern of chicanery:

UAE-linked ownership → substantial investment/sponsorship → allegations of inaccurate financial reporting → independent finding of extensive financial-rule breaches → potential competitive advantage.

BUT does this established wrongdoing, actually now uncover more serious malfeasance by the club ? Does the judgement support the hypothesis that Man City are the biggest laundrette in British cultural life? Entailing a speculative hypothesis that:

“Manchester City was a money-laundering operation designed to acquire political influence and access for the UAE.”

I'm reading between the lines now and seeing influence/access/power/laundering can of worms beyond the soar-away success on the pitch. If so, the NCA need to step in.

This verdict, although long-overdue is a very serious blow to the Premier League and by membership, our beloved club will need to navigate the coming tides very carefully!

All other league union members of UEFA will be celebrating this like Mardi Gras. Premier League had got way too big for its britches.

Corruption, match-fixing and scandals seriously damaged Serie A and knocked it off top dog that it was in 90's. Let's hope that many in England can now work for the common good and steady the ship, otherwise I actually think that MLS in America could fully capitalise on this huge wobble and become a major force. No one does sport like the Yanks.

But he completely chooses to forget that their fraudelent money allowed them to buy a much better team and manager in the first place!!

You add this to what Mike Dean was blathering, about what the Referees get up to for laffs and you begin to wonder.... what margin calls were going in Citeh's favour? And how and why?

The reason Chelsea probably think a £10 m fine was money well spent looking at the profits they made from their cheating.
