If the financial dealings had no impact on the playing staff, you would wonder why they did it ? It's almost nailed on that impacted their ability to get the best players.
Think how Palace fans would feel if CPFC had lost the FA cup final to a team secured by improper finances.
Are all the recent cups and titles on the line ?

The fact there is one out of 115 not found worries me. Will probably get a lenient suspension of some sort unless the one they didn't get done for is triggered.

Let's fantasise though. For the next 5 seasons they have to field a minimum of 3 pedestrians selected at random like jury duty. And wear hats which must not fall off otherwise they concede a penalty.

And then sell all 3 pedestrians to spurs for an inflated fee!!

As some of the charges involve fraud I would hope that some directors or shareholders will be deemed not fit and proper. No great impact for directors but would be major if one of the owners had to sell.

Would be darkly ironic for the City owners to survive a fit a proper persons test in the face of such significant human rights and sportswashing concerns, only to come a cropper for cooking the books!

I was thinking about this point.

On the face of it, City got a bigger budget than they were supposed to have by pretending a load of that filthy sportswashing oil blood money was from 'sponsorship' when it was just from the owners bank account. They paid staff and players more than they should have and hid it. In other words, they gave themselves a financial advantage by cheating and lying. Surely that helped build the squad that won the trophies?

That said, I suppose you'd have to work out how much extra money was in the artificially enlarged City budget. If it's only a small fraction then perhaps they keep the titles. If it's loads more then maybe not.

That's a point. If the league decides to demote City then what happens to the rest of their games this season? Do they still play them, even though they are pointless?
