It's the way of football. Personally I think we should have offered him a better deal when Nketiah came in but unfortunately if he was that unhappy with his contract he shouldn't have signed it in the first place.
He might think he's underpaid but for every £20 in most people's pocket he's got over £1000.
 
If someone wants out bad enough that they want to have their contract ruled invalid , they won’t be playing with the dedication and enthusiasm that’s needed to succeed in the EPL and he should be moved on .

Not convinced Sarr wants out so happy to let that play out .

With Chadi going down we now need ? 2 CB’s along with the CM that’s being rumoured .

Munoz hasn’t been the same since he was injured last season though he did lift and play well in the WC .

We should be moving him on before he has too many more games like today and prospective clubs start overlooking. His WC effort .

We have cover so don’t need a replacement , but the money we get for him will help pay for another incoming .

It gives the impression that JPM is still fighting this through the football authorities.

Actually when you read the substance he took us to a PL tribunal and lost and then took us to FIFA who said they have no authority in this matter. He may still think he is hard done by but as far as I can see we either sell him or he waits out his contract all other options are closed.

On the more general point about contract extensions I have never understood why either club or player agree to this, it's illogical as this case shows.

Both player and club can agree to extend without the consent of the other party. So if the player is crap the club can't get rid of him and if the player wants out the club can make him stay.

If both parties are happy it's not difficult to agree a new contract.
 
How many serious offers have there been for Mateta's services? It may be we can't get rid of him and he'll be banished to the outskirts, training alone, or take whatever offer comes along.
 
I don't why Mateta wants to leave Palace anyway, is it because of the burgers? I thought they had got better and are half price at full time, so even he can afford one?

And by having a French manager, he can also swear at him without needing a translator present.

That's two good reasons to stay already. Are there any others?
