welcome to Brennan Johnson

Andddd it's done.

Always came across as a nice lad, but he was proper, proper rubbish for us. I think the speed at which we've looked to ship him out of the club says it all. It will be interesting to see if he does ever find any form again. Fully expecting him to have a blinder against us first game of the season, but then maybe Everton fans will be thinking the same about McNeil.

It'll be interesting if we ever hear of the finances involved in this deal... Some talk of Everton taking over a 20m debt to Spurs. That'd be nice but feels like very wishful thinking!

Agree with you on this - moving on a £35m signing after 6 months is some statement.

I wonder if Sage has had a look at him pre-season and just told the club to get rid at any cost...

When you factor in the fee we paid, for me he's certainly our worst ever signing.

There'd been rumours of a lifestyle at odds with an elite footballer.
The club got shot of him rapidly.
Would anyone be surprised if it became clear he was substance abusing?

The guy came in did f’all & got a lovelly pay package with a European medal & touch the trophy

Wow right there

That's called trolling , thats what that smells off , and if its substance abuse how did he pass his medical , and surly Palace have duty and care to the player and get him in rehab ,

Really?? I’ve got to admit you made me google him for his career after us and apart from Lens he didn’t stay anywhere long enough to be ‘class’ no international caps either
League and cup doubles both with Werder Bremen and Bayern where he was a fixture in the first XI of both winning teams. Agreed no long service with any one club after Lens.

I think with Thuram/Desailly/Blanc/Le Boeuf/Silvestre and doubtless many others he would have struggled to get many international caps in his prime years.
