So after signing Mingueza on a free I was curious as to who is currently available for free who could be an asset for us. Obviously wages play a massive part as well as the signing on fee but here are a few I personally would take to strengthen the squad especially as we have European football again.

Dusan Vlahovic (Huge long shot)
Malang Sarr (Relationship with Sage)
Jadon Sancho (Rediscover form)
John Stones
Yves Bissouma
Lorenzo Pellegrino (Euro experience)
Oleksandr Zinchenko
Dani Cebellos
Adama Traore
Patson Daka
Axel Tuanzebe (Backup)
Mauro Icardi (Scores for fun)
Tyrell Malacia
Takehiro Tomiyasu (Prem experience)

Rumour has it Arsenal are sniffing round Stones as replacement for injured Saliba.

Mainly with his teammate's wives.

There are a few there which are interesting, but in reality probably not practical.

Jadon Sancho - a wasted talent at present. Trouble is we already have one of those in Brennan Johnson at the moment.

Yves Bissouma - could be a commanding central midfielder but it seems attitude and outside influences are an issue.

Patson Daka - always wondered why he never cut it at Leicester, great pace but maybe finishing is poor. Seen a few of those before.

Perhaps this is problem with football these days, that players such as above earn so money at an early age they lose interest, focus and desire.

100%.

The ones the have earnt the mega bucks e.g. Sancho, have lost sight of any reality. If he would settle for 50/60k he'd have clubs lining up. But he'll no doubtedly be hanging on for 200k+

I can't imagine Stones wages to be astronomical. I think he would be a great punt for us. We've managed to beat teams to big named players before eg. Cabaye so why not make a cheeky offer. At least we can say we tried

Zinchenko would be an improvement on Sosa
Daka would be a good back up if Mateta leaves and could fight with Nketiah for playing time
Dani Cebellos would be a good addition. A lot of European and Premier experience. N
I'm not saying we should rely on free transfers but at least to bolster our squad as we will be playing a lot of football this season. And Icardi because I like him and he would be exciting to see in red and blue

He's crocked! He hasn't managed 30+ PL games in a season since 15/16.

Last season he managed 9 league games, the season before that 11, and before that just 16.

He'd be one of our highest earnest and likely only able to play about a third of games.

If Mateta leaves and we replace him with a guy who managed 5 goals in 41 games in the Championship last season, we might as well pack it in.

I appreciate the effort, but I don't think there's much value at all to be found at that end of the market.

He managed 18 matches for Man City last season and 5 matches for England in the World Cup. I'm not saying he should replace any of our current centre backs but he would be a good back up/cup player and also can play on the right if required. I agree, if he is fit.

His last contract was £250k a week, so how much are we paying for someone to be a back up/cup player?

If we say Chadi Riad is the player currently filling that role for us, he's on £30k a week...
