Scottish non league footballer Rab Boner.
After a night on the Tennants Super with his mates, he started for Alness United against St Duthus in a league match during the 1937-1938 season.
Staggering to reach a knock down from a team mate he inadvertently struck the ball with one leg crossed behind the back of his standing leg. The ball flew into the top corner. The goal attracted considerable attention and was covered by local and then international journalists.
Rumour has it the Argentinian Ricardo Infante saw these reports and along with others practised incessantly. Infante successfully scored a similar goal in a game between Estudiantes de la Plata and Rosario Central in 1948.
