World cup 2026

Bellingham didn’t sound impressed though, 🤣understandable I suppose when you’ve run yourself into the ground, scored two goals and then you hear that your manager was having a pop at the team even if he was right
There’s a big difference between effort and quality. Tuchel was keen to forcibly point out that there was nothing wrong with the team’s mentality.

Lucky England.

Pickford bloody awful (again) when is he going to give Tuchel back the negatives.

Anderson has not impressed me in any of the games, yes he has work rate but every time I see him I keep thinking how much better Wharton would have been.

Madueke was just rubbish as was Eze.

On the bright side I thought Spence was a great impact sub. Apparently Tuchel has been hard on him not because he doesn't rate him but because he does. Last night the lad showed us that.

The Ref had a decent game I had no problems with the big decisions and it wasn't a penalty. Sorry Shearer "where was he supposed to put his leg" Err how about in front of himself and not to the side to trip up the defender.

I'm not expecting us to beat Argentina. FIFA will no doubt organise the biggest stitch up since the Bayeux Tapestry.

Anderson was outstanding, does much of the hard work in midfield, never stops running. Wharton isn't the same type of player.

Manager not happy with the quality and tbh he is correct.
Good to hear a manager admit his team were not that good.
He was spot-on with his assertion.
A less than impressive performance, far removed from the fast-flowing football we have witnessed by both France and Spain.
Collectively disappointing and some individuals entered this category.

Fortunate that this is not Argentinas greatest team, France still miles better than anyone else.

France favourites against Spain but by no means a gimme.

England v Argentina is a 50-50... Both teams not looking convincing but finding 'a way to get it done'.

Pleased that we have to have Argentina though, as if we want to win the whole thing we need to up our game and playing against our rivals should help.

If we were to play Spain in the final I'd give us a chance although a very difficult game. If we play France I fear for the worst, I honestly think they'd tear our defence to shreds. We'd have to use the CPFC FA Cup model of performance to beat France... But England defensively don't look like a solid unit capable of this. But who knows!

My main criticism of him is his passing out of defence. He always takes the safe and easy option. A quick counter is never initiated by him.
That's a good point. Funny because at Palace he was quite creative for a centre back, but probably more around running out of defence with the ball and playing excellent long passes, rather than fast passes to create the counter. I did think he was very calm and defensively solid last night though.

Guehi Konsa and Stones for that matter were looking for someone to pass to further up the pitch every time they had comfortable possession . What they saw in front of them was statues .Not one player was offering themselves in space so they just knocked it about between themselves .

Probably what Tuchel was referring to when he said room for improvement ,the flow between the lines is non-existent through the middle ,our only way forward seems down the wings via pretty average wide players

Madueke has been terrible. How the hell did he get in the team ? Oh wait a minute, he plays for Arsenal.
He really offers nothing.
