Doctor Who: BBC cancels Christmas special and Russell T Davies announces departure

The BBC said the decision was made "after careful consideration" and had "not been taken lightly".

No surprise that Russel Davies is moving on and the Christmas special is cancelled.

The BBC though is still trying to flog a dead horse asking for new ideas on how to continue.

Jeez enough already, just park it for 10 years and then look again.

The viewing figures versus cost of the show have been appalling.

I think I gave up after Peter capaldi left the show. No surprise the Christmas special being cancelled and no surprise if it's into it's last season. Woke destroyed it.

Obviously I hate the BBC with a passion.
But the problem I have with this sort of video, is that it is attacking a BBC journalist for doing the right thing (for once). The BBC journalist Ed Thomas has probably risked his career by reporting the truth. And what thanks does he get? A load of 'told you so' abuse on youtube. He probably wonders why he bothered. Same with all whistleblowers/white hats - damned if they do, damned if they don't.

You're probably right. He'll be cancelled now. He even had a white South African in his report. Whatever next, an Israeli? God forbid.

We agree on next to nothing but, for once, I could not agree more.

The last genuinely good doctor was Matt Smith (Karen Gillan was almost worth the license fee on her own).

Given it is the BBC, it was a drama (80%) with woke (20%) overtones.

Then the needle zoomed to the left and it became an exercise in wokery (100%) with zero (0%) dramatic content.

To my credit, I actually sat through the last XMas special so am not one of those who judges without seeing (a la Mary Whitehouse). It was an hour of my life I will never get back. Actually, as bad as Bridgerton, and that set a very low bar indeed.

All of the heritage sci fi shows have been ruined by wokery and awful writing. Star Trek another one.

Next up, they will ruin The X Files.
