Things other than Palace

You can just go to "home" and select the "Palace talk" Threads from the tab. You don't have to read or engage with anything else, if you don't want to.

In our defence all football forums are pretty similar like that.

I mean, if someone was being forced to read posts then I would agree with him.

But being able to block posters and not select threads really is about as fair as it gets.

I think you can find just football podcasts and old evil Nick did one just about Palace I think.

Do you apply this principle universally?

Do you report people at work for having non-work related conversations?
Beat the wife for mentioning something not directly related to family and household?
Kick off in the pub at people ordering soft-drinks?
Oh, I don't think an observation on website content has turned me into a power freak.
So, I may have to accept it's the norm for this kind of website to digress from the main purpose of its' creation, to include topics which have absolutely nothing to do with the aim. That just strikes me as odd, although yes, you just ignore topics which have no interest for you.
As this topic has descended into silliness anyway, let me give you a daft example, which may help you to grasp my viewpoint. Reversing the choice of websites, let's just say I was researching the minutes of Prime Minister's Question Time. I would not expect to find news of whether Mateta had been transferred or not there!😕

If you were looking at a forum dedicated to House of Commons debates I would fully expect it to have an off topic section as have most forums whatever the main subject

So when you go to an off license you are disappointed that they would also sell fags and snacks?

Same for a petrol station.....Do you sigh when you see newspapers in a rack?

If you go to Halfords for car parts you must have a right fit when you see them selling camping gear.

Boots offering hearing tests.....Supermarkets having eat-ins.

The topic didn't descend into silliness, it was silly to begin with.

Also Question Time does have the occasional non political question.....AI tells me it amongst many non political questions it has
MPs asking about:
  • a constituent’s missing horse
  • local village fêtes
  • a town’s Christmas lights
  • a bakery’s award‑winning pie
These are not national political issues, yet they appear in PMQs.
